We really strive to make our customers happy and when this customer called to get their refrigerator repaired, we rushed out immediately to take care of them. We want to make sure you don't deal with warm food when its supposed to be cold. It's not tasty, and definitely not healthy either.
Zahi, the owner of Uplifting Appliance Repair here in Edmonton, is a great service technician and he went out on this job. Immediately diagnosing this Sub Zero refrigerator was his first priority and he found several problems with it.
Replacement of parts was needed, but that wouldn't be too problematic, and since the refrigerator wasn't keeping food cold and the freezer had completely thawed, we knew we needed to do a deeper diagnosis.
During the analysis we found out why there was no cooling going on: this Sub Zero refrigerator had five components fail at once!
A severe system leak caused multiple problems and we needed to replace the heat exchanger, the accumulator, the freezer evaporator & even the compressor to make this Sub Zero Edmonton refrigerator repair work right.
To stop continued corrosion and keep future repairs from happening due to the same problem, Zahi also sealed up the systemic leak. Now, this refrigerator will last the customer for many more years.
This made our customer extremely happy, of course, and we can do the same for your Sub Zero refrigerator or any other appliance.

Refrigerators are machines. They are made out of pieces that are subject to breaking down. Many people assume that their entire refrigerator must be replaced as soon as it breaks down. That is incorrect.
Stated simply, by replacing the broken pieces of the refrigerator you can enjoy having a good, functional refrigerator again at a fraction of the cost of a new one. More often than not, repairing a refrigerator is the best and most cost-effective option.
Many refrigerator models have a water supply. This serves to bring water to the ice maker or the water dispenser. These connections are a common source of malfunction. When they break, water will begin to trickle or flow fairly steadily. These are a type of repair that can be attempted by someone who is comfortable with moderate home repair items.
The refrigerator may not be fully level. This is a problem that can usually be fixed by making sure the refrigerator is placed on a level surface. Fridges have a water pan that is designed to collect water and allow it to evaporate. If the pan is not 100% level then water will tend to spill over the sides before it has a chance to evaporate.
There are two quick methods you can do on your own before you give me a call:
-Make sure the dial hasn't been inadvertently adjusted. Curious kids have a tendency to adjust buttons and dials. Your refrigerator might be warmer because someone turned it to that setting.
-Check the condenser coils. Refrigerators use coils to allow air flow to assist in the cooling process. Often times if the top of the refrigerator is used for storage then the air flow to these coils can be obstructed. Or a pet in the house with shedding fur can be another source of clogging for the condenser coils. It is recommended that a homeowner clean their coils annually. If you have an indoor, furry pet... you should clean your coils every 6 months.
